HeartDecodedHQ collects minimal personal information. When you create an account, we collect your email address and a display username (auto-assigned). We do not require your real name or profile photo.
We also collect usage data such as pages visited, quiz results (anonymous), and poll votes (stored locally in your browser). Anonymous stories you submit are stored in our database without identifying information.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To provide and maintain the platform.
- To personalise your experience (saved quotes, quiz history).
- To send transactional emails if you opt in.
- To improve our content and features using aggregated analytics.
3. Data Storage & Security
Your data is stored securely using Google Firebase (Firestore & Authentication), which complies with SOC 2, ISO 27001, and other security standards. We use Firebase App Check and security rules to prevent unauthorised access.
4. Cookies & Local Storage
We use browser local storage to remember your poll votes and quiz progress. We use session cookies for authentication. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.
5. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services: Google Firebase (authentication and database), Unsplash (images), and Google Fonts (typography). Each has their own privacy policy.
6. Your Rights
You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting legal@heartdecodedhq.com. We will process deletion requests within 30 days.
7. Children’s Privacy
HeartDecodedHQ is intended for users aged 16 and older. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 16. If you believe a child has provided us data, please contact us immediately.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy periodically. We will notify registered users of material changes via email. Continued use of the platform after changes constitutes acceptance.
